A forest fire that erupted on August 7 in Kosovo’s Shar Mountains National Park is steadily advancing toward the popular touristic village of Prevalla. Due to the rugged terrain, fire trucks have been unable to reach the area, hindering firefighting efforts.
Over 20 firefighters, supported by local police, are working to control the blaze. In response to the escalating situation, NATO’s Kosovo Peace Force (KFOR) is expected to deploy helicopters today to assist in aerial firefighting efforts.
