Kosovo’s EU membership application was signed at the ceremony held at the Presidency of Kosovo with the participation of President Vjosa Osmani, Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Speaker of the Assembly Glauk Konjufca. Reminding that it is a historic day for Kosovo, Osmani said, “December 14 has two separate importance in the modern history of Kosovo. On the one hand, we are signing the application for membership to the EU, and on the other hand, we are celebrating the anniversary of the forming of the Kosovo army.”
Underlining that there is no alternative for Kosovo citizens other than EU membership, Osmani said, “This step we have taken for EU membership is dedicated to all citizens of our country. This historical moment is dedicated to all Kosovo children, women and men who sacrificed their lives by facing genocide and occupations unjustly. ‘
Emphasizing that Kosovo deserves being a part of the EU, Osmani said, “Our path is definite. This may be a long-term process, but we will do our part, so that the EU can do its part more easily.”
