Kosovo Swears In Prime Minister Albin Kurti for Fourth Term

Albin Kurti has been sworn in for his fourth term as Kosovo’s prime minister following a successful parliamentary vote of confidence. His Self-Determination Movement won the early general elections on June 7, and his new administration was approved with 62 votes despite boycotts from major opposition parties. The session highlighted ongoing tensions, as Serb lawmakers voted against the new government and walked out just before the national anthem was played. Although Kurti has formed his cabinet, the nation’s broader political deadlock remains unresolved. If the parliament fails to elect a new president within 60 days, Kosovo will be forced to hold its fourth early election in just two years.
