Kuşadası Becomes a Cultural Tourism Hub with New Museums

Kuşadası, a key destination in Turkish tourism, has gained prominence in cultural tourism under Mayor Ömer Günel’s “City of Museums” initiative. The city’s new thematic museums have set visitor records, enriching its cultural appeal.

The Maritime Trade History Museum, opened two months ago in Güvercinada Castle, attracted over 12,000 visitors. Similarly, the Porcelain Doll Museum, located in the Historical Caravanserai, captivates visitors with its vibrant displays.

Another highlight is the Mineral and Fossil Museum on Yıldırım Street, showcasing fossils such as mammoth teeth and petrified squid, alongside precious minerals like rubies and diamonds. Opened through a collaboration with the Southern Aegean Development Agency, the museum hosted 2,422 visitors in 2024 and frequently welcomes student groups. Kuşadası continues to cement its status as a cultural tourism leader.
