Kyrgyzstan Hosts Turkish Cuisine Week Culinary Event

 

An event celebrating “Turkish Cuisine with Centuries-Old Recipes” was recently held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, as part of the globally recognized Turkish Cuisine Week. Organized jointly by the local Turkish Embassy and the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, the gathering featured an extensive feast prepared by the university’s Gastronomy Department. Attendees, including diplomats and academic officials, enjoyed a wide selection of traditional Turkish dishes like baklava and stuffed grape leaves alongside local Kyrgyz specialties. Addressing the guests, Turkish Ambassador Mekin Mustafa Kemal Ökem praised the richness of Türkiye’s culinary heritage and emphasized that sharing these historic recipes strengthens the deep cultural bonds between the two nations.
