At least fourteen people died and another 35 were injured after landslides caused by heavy rains in the Colombian city of Pereira, capital of the department of Risaralda, official sources reported. Streets were covered in mud, houses located by the road were destroyed, a local official said. People living near a flooded river were evacuated to safe places. The police, civil defense, army and firefighters carry on search and rescue operations in the area.
