large jesus statue destroyed by lightning in Mexico

Lightning struck the 33-meter statue of Jesus Christ in the town of La Concordia in the Mexican state of Chiapas. The fire that broke out after the lightning burned the statue, which was made of fiberglass and resin, into ashes in a short time.

The statue named “El Cristo Pescador”, meaning Fisherman Jesus, was made by Peruvian artist Pedro Victor Cuya Ramos in 2014.
