While much of Türkiye is embracing the arrival of spring, the 3,200-meter peaks of Palandöken Mountain remain stubbornly blanketed in deep snow. Thanks to recent heavy storms and an impressive base depth of 170 centimeters, officials have officially extended the ski season at the renowned resort until April 30. This winter wonderland offers a striking seasonal contrast to the warming temperatures in the nearby city center of Erzurum. Both domestic and international tourists are now taking advantage of the rare opportunity to enjoy sunny “spring skiing” across the mountain’s 55 pristine slopes.
