The Peace Summit co-chaired by US President Donald Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi concluded with leaders hailing the Gaza ceasefire as the start of a new era for the region. President Sisi thanked the US, Türkiye, and Qatar for their mediation efforts, emphasizing Egypt’s commitment to rebuilding Gaza and supporting a two-state solution. “The Palestinian people have the right to live freely in an independent state in peace and security,” Sisi said.
Trump declared, “We have finally achieved peace in the Middle East,” thanking leaders for ending the war and announcing humanitarian aid and reconstruction efforts. He also praised President Erdoğan, saying, “He’s a tough man, and we love him. He’s always been there when I needed him.”
Sisi awarded Trump Egypt’s highest honor, the Order of the Nile, while Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, calling him “a man of peace.”
