Life continues in tent cities for earthquake children

Two major earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş caused destruction in 11 provinces in Türkiye. Many temporary shelters were set up, along with tent cities, for earthquake victims. In tent cities, where all kinds of opportunities are being provided, every need is considered, especially for children.

One of them is in Malatya, where children meet new friends and spend their days playing with the toys and parks that have been provided. Security teams also help earthquake victims by taking all kinds of security measures.

The earthquake victim kid Hüseyin Erol expressed gratitude and added, “We have been sheltering here for a few weeks. The earthquake caused us great psychological and financial damage. We settled in the tent city, where we met new friends. There are certain places here for us to recover ourselves during this difficult time. AFAD, Psychosocial tents, and the mobile library staff all try to help and make us happy as much as they can.”
