Thousands of trucks have been stranded for four days at the Kapıkule and Hamzabeyli border gates in Edirne, Türkiye, due to a system update for the new transit information system (NCTS-P5). At Hamzabeyli, the queue has stretched over 25 kilometers, causing significant delays for export-bound vehicles.
Truck drivers criticized the lack of prior notice about the update. “I’ve been waiting for 60 hours without basic facilities,” said driver Ömer Ünal, stuck en route to France. Another driver, Mustafa Aslan, called the situation poorly managed, adding, “Drivers are covering their own expenses amid this chaos.”
