looters broke into a gun store in France

The chaotic protests that started after the death of a 17-year-old African-born teenager in Nanterre in Paris, the capital of France, continue. The protestors broke into a gun store in Marseille and stole hunting rifles. Upon Marseille Mayor Benoit Payan’s request, more reinforcements were deployed in the city. The demonstrators started fire in many spots in Marseille’s streets and responded to the intervention of the security forces with fireworks. A total of 1,311 rioters were arrested and 79 police officers were injured overnight, according to the French interior ministry.
