French President Emmanuel Macron met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas at the Élysée Palace in Paris, where they agreed to form a joint committee to advance the creation of a Palestinian State. The committee will work on building the constitutional and institutional framework.
Both leaders discussed the Gaza ceasefire, security, and reconstruction. Macron warned that Israel’s annexation of the West Bank would cross a “red line,” and pledged €100 million in humanitarian aid to Gaza. Abbas said they are “nearing completion” of a draft interim constitution and laws for future elections in Palestine
