Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro’s ruling United Socialist Party (PSUV) secured 23 of 24 governorships and 82.68% of the vote for 285 National Assembly seats in Sunday’s general and regional elections. The opposition largely boycotted the vote, citing last year’s disputed election results.
