After the results of Türkiye’s local elections were announced, supporters of the Republican People’s Party, which won the administration of 35 provinces in the country, including the majority of metropolitan municipalities, took to the streets. Forming convoys on many streets and playing music on their stereos, the supporters danced to celebrate the victory of their party.
Republican People’s Party, which fell behind the ruling Justice and Development Party by winning in 21 provinces in comparison to their triumph in 39 provinces in 2019 local elections, won the administration of 11 more municipalities than their rival this year.
