The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) shared the results of screenings on the nutritional status of children in the northern regions of the Gaza Strip. According to the research, the rate of acute malnutrition among children under the age of 5 in Gaza increased from 13 percent to 25 percent. Meanwhile, in Khan Yunus, where screenings were performed for the first time, 28 percent of children under the age of 2 are struggling with acute malnutrition.
At least 23 children died as a result of malnutrition and thirst in the north of the Gaza Strip, reminded the authorities.
