In the Nazilli district of Turkey’s Aydın city, a sewage system was discovered in the ancient city of Mastaura, which also hosts one of Turkey’s largest coliseums. The sewage system, which a person can move easily inside, was unearthed after the completion of some of the expropriation works in the ancient city. The officials from the Aydın Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism took the region under inspection and began the investigation of the sewage system.
Meanwhile, Aydın Culture and Tourism Provincial Director, Associate Professor Dr. Mehmet Umut Tuncer, made a statement about the 1,800 year-old giant sewer system. Tuncer noted that the findings unearthed one after the other in the ancient city are very valuable in terms of science.
