Abdul Rosyid, a 35-year-old security guard at a company in Jakarta’s Clincing districk was struck by lightning while walking with an umbrella on the loading area of the company. People in the area rushed to the aid of Rosyid, who collapsed to the ground. He was taken to the hospital and reported to be in good health after receiving necessary treatment for 4 days. Rosyid was said to have suffered burns on his hands. The incident took place on December 20 at 18:05 local time, according to Cilincing Police Chief Kompol R Manurung.

Rosyid was holding a radio in his hand at the time of the incident, Cilincing Police Intelligence Unit Chief Slamet Wiyono said, and thus may have been struck by lightning.
