Market Fire Erupts in Tehran

A fire broke out at a covered neighborhood market in Tehran, Iran, spreading rapidly through the area. Tehran Fire Department spokesperson Jalal Maleki said the blaze started at 09:55 local time in the Jannat Neighborhood Market in the Jannatabad district.

Maleki said the 2,000-square-meter market, filled with stalls made of flammable materials, was quickly engulfed, prompting the dispatch of five fire trucks. He added that thick smoke was rising from the scene and that there was no confirmed information on injuries or fatalities.
