Mass Graves of Women Killed by Assad Regime Found in Syria

Mass graves of women who died after being captivated and tortured by the Assad regime were found in the El Zeynebiye region in the countryside of Damascus, the capital of Syria. Citizens who could not find their relatives in the prisons used by the regime searched for traces of their relatives in the graves.

“They put the bodies on top of each other here. This place is very deep. There are many mass graves like this. They bring the bodies here and throw them in. Assad and his soldiers are guilty. They are mafia, pigs. This is a woman’s dress; look at Assad’s crimes. They only threw women into this pit. This blood is women’s blood. This cemetery was newly built. Before Assad fell, he brought everyone here and shot them. We want Assad; we will execute him,” said a Syrian named Abdelaziz Jawad.

“I visited him 4 times in total in Sednaya. They didn’t let us see each other after 2014. We never saw each other again,” said a woman who was in Sednaya Prison and was searching for her missing brother.

“I went to visit my brother in Sednaya Prison. They brought 400 people in two vehicles and buried them here. I saw it with my own eyes. The martyrs are not terrorists; Assad is a terrorist. The human bone in my hand,” said Zaid Firas.
