Mass Parade in Damascus Marks First Anniversary of Assad’s Fall

Syria held a large military parade in Damascus as celebrations continued for the first anniversary of the Assad regime’s collapse.

President Ahmed al-Shara, wearing his military uniform, joined crowds at the Umayyad Mosque before the new army staged a show of force featuring tanks, special forces, snipers, mine-clearance teams, and helicopter flyovers.

Helicopters dropped leaflets honoring fallen fighters as thousands of Syrians filled the streets waving flags and celebrating the revolution’s victory.
