Massive chain traffic accident injures 30 in India

Forty-eight vehicles were involved in a chain traffic accident caused by an oil tanker at the Navale bridge in the city of Pune in the state of Maharashtra, India. At least 30 people were injured in the accident.

The local press stated that the brakes of the tanker were discharged, and that the road became slippery as the oil in the tanker spilled onto the road after the accident, leading to the involvement of other vehicles into the accident.

Search and rescue efforts continue in the accident area.
