A severe landslide in southwestern China’s Chongqing municipality has destroyed multiple buildings, trapping several residents under the rubble. The disaster struck Pengshui County around 8:00 AM local time, tragically occurring just as authorities were attempting to evacuate locals after reports of falling rocks. Social media footage captured residents fleeing through thick clouds of dust as local houses and shops collapsed. Emergency rescue teams have successfully pulled ten people from the wreckage so far, and over 1,100 nearby residents have been relocated to safety.
