Massive Oil Platform Transits Istanbul’s Strait En Route to Romania

The towering “Transocean Barents” oil platform, measuring 60 meters high and 120 meters long, passed through Istanbul’s strait on its journey from Spain to Romania. Bosphorus ship traffic was halted for the platform’s transit, which was escorted by several tugboats and Türkiye’s emergency response vessel, “Nene Hatun.” Curious onlookers gathered to watch as the platform passed under the July 15 Martyrs’ Bridge, a moment captured in aerial footage.
