Massive Wildfire Rages in Florida Everglades

A fast-moving wildfire is actively tearing through the brushlands of the Florida Everglades, sending thick plumes of smoke over nearby communities. Breaking out yesterday in western Broward County, the blaze has already scorched over 7,000 acres of dry vegetation. According to the Florida Forest Service, emergency crews from multiple agencies are battling to slow its spread, though only 40 percent of the fire is currently contained. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation as towering flames and heavy smoke threaten local settlements and disrupt regional air quality.
