Mexico Senate Brawl: Opposition Leader Attacks Senate President

A session in the Mexican Senate ended in a fight when PRI opposition leader Alejandro “Alito” Moreno attacked Senate President Gerardo Fernández Noroña, claiming he was denied the right to speak. Footage showed Moreno grabbing Noroña’s arm before striking him, while another lawmaker also joined the scuffle.

Noroña later said, “He hit me and threatened to kill me,” adding he will seek the expulsion of Moreno and three PRI deputies. Moreno, meanwhile, claimed on social media that Noroña initiated the altercation after refusing to grant him the floor.
