Mexico’s Popocatepetl erupts 25 times in the last 10 days

According to the daily report published by Mexico’s National Center for Prevention of Disasters (CENAPRED), with the 4 eruptions recorded today, the number of eruptions in Mexico’s Popocatepetl Volcano increased to 25 in the last 10 days. In addition to the eruptions, the volcano emitted volcanic gas and smoke 69 times in the last 24 hours.

Authorities advised citizens to be aware of the stones and gravel that may fall around from the volcano, which is likely to explode at any moment, and to take precautions against mudflows and ash falls.
