Migrant Cemetery Opened in Bihac, Bosnia and Herzegovina

A section of the renovated Humci City Cemetery in Bihac, in northwestern Bosnia and Herzegovina, has been allocated to deceased migrants. Eighteen migrants, who lost their lives in the region during their dangerous journey to Europe, have been buried in the cemetery and a plaque reading “In memory of all migrants and refugees who died with them in search of a better life” was placed at the front of it.

The Balkan Route, which also includes Bosnia and Herzegovina, is among the main migration routes preferred by irregular migrants to reach Western European countries.
