A group of migrants from Haiti, El Salvador, and Honduras clashed with police on the road between Mexico City and Puebla, where they were denied entry to the Mexican capital. According to eyewitnesses, police used tear gas on migrants, including children. The city administration directed the migrant group arriving in Mexico City directly to the asylum center, but migrants wanted to visit the Guadalupe Basilica in the city due to a religious holiday. After 6 hours, the migrants reached an agreement with the authorities and agreed to travel to the asylum center. Authorities provided buses to migrants who wanted to visit the basilica on condition that hygiene measures were taken.
