Two soldiers were killed when a South Korean army helicopter crashed during a routine training flight in the Gapyeong region, about 55 kilometers northeast of Seoul, according to military officials. The AH-1S Cobra helicopter went down for reasons that remain unclear, and both crew members later died in hospital.
Following the crash, the South Korean military suspended all AH-1S helicopter flights. Defense Minister Ahn Gyu-back ordered a full investigation into the incident.
