Millions Attend Khamenei’s Funeral Provession in Karbala

Hundreds of thousands of mourners flooded the streets of Karbala to honor Iran’s slain supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, following his death in US-Israeli strikes. After an initial ceremony in Najaf, massive crowds gathered around the shrines of Imam Hussein and Imam Abbas, with total attendance expected to reach three million people. The overwhelming turnout severely slowed the funeral procession, prompting Iraqi security forces to deploy extensive logistical support along the route. Shrines in the city center were temporarily closed to visitors to safely receive the body for final farewell prayers. Following the ceremonies in Iraq, Khamenei’s body will be transported back to Iran for burial tomorrow at the Imam Reza Shrine in Mashhad.
