Millions Gather at Mount Arafat for Peak of Hajj Pilgrimage

Approximately two million Muslims, including 84,000 Turkish nationals, have gathered at Mount Arafat in sweltering 40-degree heat to perform the most critical ritual of the Hajj. Seeking forgiveness and spiritual purification, the massive crowd prayed in reverence around the Jabal al-Rahma hill, with Turkish groups led in heartfelt supplication by Religious Affairs President Safi Arpaguş. Following their day-long vigil, the worshippers will travel to Muzdalifah after sunset to gather pebbles for the symbolic stoning of the devil in Mina. Over the coming days, the faithful will complete the final mandatory rites of Eid al-Adha, ultimately shedding their traditional ihram garments to officially earn the revered title of Hajj pilgrim.
