miners’ clash kills at least 14 in Peru

Clashes broke out between a group of gold miners in the Peruvian city of Arequipa. At least 14 people were killed in clashes that broke out on June 2, officials said. While 31 people were arrested in connection with the incident, the prosecutor’s office is analyzing videos and audios of the incident to identify those responsible.

Arequipa police, on the other hand, said that traffic on the South Pan-American Highway, which was closed due to investigations, continues with limited traffic.
