The Iranian Revolutionary Guards Naval Forces Command seized two Greek oil tankers, “Prudent Varrior” and “Delta Poseidon” on May 27, on the grounds that they violated international law in the Persian Gulf. Iran shared footage of the seizure of Greek oil tankers. In the footage, it was seen that the soldiers of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Naval Forces Command surrounded the Greek oil tanker from the air and sea, and fully equipped soldiers landed on the tanker by helicopter.
Iran announced on May 25 the Iranian oil tanker was seized at the request of the United States, and the seizure was described as piracy.
