Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) reported that monsoon rains over the past six weeks have claimed 154 lives since July 1. The floods, which have wreaked havoc across provinces including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan, and the Gilgit-Baltistan region, have also left 279 people injured and caused the loss of 349 livestock. The heavy rains have damaged 1,552 homes nationwide, with roads in Islamabad and Rawalpindi flooded, severely disrupting traffic. In response, authorities in Punjab established 46 health centers, while at least 2,170 people in Sindh were relocated to shelters.
