Montenegro Expects to Lift Temporary Visas for Turkish Citizens Soon

Montenegrin Foreign Minister Ervin Ibrahimovic said his country expects to lift the temporary visa requirement for Turkish citizens within “10 to 15 days.” He added that Montenegro is working to align its visa policy with the EU by 2026 and is increasing staff at missions in Türkiye due to recent congestion.

The visa suspension was introduced after allegations involving Turkish citizens in a knife fight in Podgorica. The individuals were later cleared in court, and the government confirmed they were not involved.
