Polish drivers asked police for help after a moose appeared in the Polish town of Bartoszyce and disrupted traffic while licking rich mineral ice melting salts on the asphalt.
Police teams tried chasing the moose while directing the traffic. Not minding the officers, the moose returned to the forest after consuming enough salt. Even though the incident repeated a few hours later, the day went smoothly.
Although forest guards leave food in the forests for animals during the winter months, salts spilled on the roads continue attracting moose. Police warn drivers to be careful and reduce their speed when passing through the areas where wild animals live.
