A chain-reaction accident involving 18 vehicles on the highway between Mexico City and Queretaro killed 3 people and injured 15. A large number of firefighters, rescue teams, and medical personnel were called to the scene. Six of the injured who were taken to the hospital were reported to be in critical condition.
According to the first determinations, the accident occurred due to the excessive speed of a timber-laden truck. The truck driver fled the scene, eyewitnesses said.
