Mummy found in young man’s bag in Peru

Police found a 1 meter and 51 centimeters tall mummy in the thermal bag of a 26-year-old man who was behaving inappropriately while drinking alcohol with his friends at an archaeological site in Peru’s Puno region.

The young man said that the mummy, which was bandaged in the fetal position, was his roommate, and he saw it as his “girlfriend”. Naming the mummy “Juanita”, the young man stated that he carried the bag with him to show it to his friends and claimed that the mummy belonged to his father, but he did not say where he got it from. The suspect and his two friends were arrested, and the mummy was handed over to the Ministry of Culture.

Experts said the mummy belonged to a 45-years-old man who lived between 600 to 800 years ago.
