National Day of Mourning Declared in Czech Republic After University Attack

Saturday was declared a national day of mourning in the Czech Republic due to the armed attack that killed 25 people and injured 14 at Charles University in Prague. Flags in official institutions will be lowered to half-mast, and a minute of silence will be held at noon.

“I would like to express my sincere condolences to all the relatives of the victims and everyone in this most tragic event in the history of the Czech Republic,” said Czech President Petr Pavel.
