Nationwide Public Transport Strike Disrupts Germany

Public transport workers across Germany launched a two-day strike, halting bus, tram and subway services in major cities including Berlin, Hamburg and Munich. The walkout, organized by the Ver.di union, aims to pressure employers in ongoing wage negotiations.

The union, representing around 100,000 municipal transport employees, is demanding shorter working hours, better shift regulations and higher pay for night and weekend work. The strike caused heavy traffic congestion nationwide as commuters sought alternative transport.
