NATO Ministers Urge Concrete Military Capabilities, Back Ukraine

NATO defense ministers met in Brussels as Türkiye’s Defense Minister Yaşar Güler attended talks at NATO Headquarters. Secretary General Mark Rutte said the meeting will push to strengthen deterrence, boost defense production and tackle drone threats while reaffirming “resolute support for Ukraine.” U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth echoed a “peace through strength” message, urging allies to turn pledges into real military capabilities and to back initiatives like the Ukraine Prioritized Needs List. Ministers also discussed deeper NATO–EU cooperation on air and drone defense.
