NATO Secretary General Rutte Heads to Kiev for First Overseas Visit

Former Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte made his first overseas visit to Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, after taking over from Jens Stoltenberg as NATO Secretary General on October 1. Attending a bilateral meeting, the new NATO head and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky held a joint press conference with.

Rutte, who touched on NATO’s support for Ukraine in his speech, said that he would carry this support forward and that military aid worth 40 billion euros is planned to be provided to Ukraine within a year.
