NATO’s Stoltenberg Applauds Collaboration Between Sweden and Türkiye

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg emphasized the shared recognition of the PKK as a terrorist group by Türkiye, Sweden, and NATO allies. Stoltenberg urged intensified collaboration between Swedish and Turkish intelligence services to address Türkiye’s valid concerns, advocating for enhanced information sharing. He also welcomed Sweden’s decision to lift arms export restrictions to Türkiye, highlighting the importance of alliance members procuring military equipment from one another.

Ahead of the Foreign Ministers Meeting, he highlighted discussions on pressing security matters, including Middle East developments. Stoltenberg commended the extended pause in Gaza conflicts for facilitating aid delivery and humanitarian efforts, enabling assistance provision and hostage releases.
