Nearly 4km long Mexican rug sets Guinness Record

A rug made for a festival in Huamantla, Mexico set a new Guinness Record with its 3.932m length. The previous record breaker was a Guatemalan made rug with a length of 2.319m. The rug was designed a year ago and is made of sawdust in 19 different colors poured along the city streets. Unfortunately, the rug is said to have two days of lifetime before its shape gets distorted.

The 70 years old festival made in honour of saintness Cachita continues to color the streets with various rug ornaments on every August 14-15.
