In the first eight months of the year, the Troy Museum and the 5,600-year-old Troy Archaeological Site in Çanakkale attracted 400,000 visitors, with expectations to reach 500,000 in the coming months. The Troy Museum, inaugurated by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on March 18, 2019, features 12,750 square meters of exhibition space and houses 2,000 artifacts, showcasing the rich history of the ancient city. Since its opening, the museum has garnered global attention for its architecture and exhibits, earning multiple awards, including the European Museum of the Year Special Recognition Award in 2020 and Tripadvisor’s “Traveller Choice” award in 2020 and 2021.
