Nemrut’s Camels Photographed among Snow

Vicinity of the obelisk blocks called Nemrut’s Camels, located in Tatvan district of Bitlis, was covered by snow white after the recent snowfalls. Offering a perfect view, the area attracted nature photographers.

According to the rumors, the structures were once camels belonging to Nemrut, a Babylonian ruler who used to travel to Tatvan in the summers, and they were petrified while climbing Mount Nemrut with their owner, who died that day. The area was declared a first-degree natural protected area in 2010.
