Nepal Earthquake Claims Lives of Over 150 People

A 6.4-magnitude earthquake occurred in the Jajarkot region of Nepal’s Karnali province at 23.47 local time yesterday. According to Nepali officials, more than 150 people died. The earthquake, the epicenter of which is the village of Ramidanda, destroyed numerous houses and caused landslides that blocked roads.

“There may be hundreds of injured, and the death toll may rise. Thousands of people spent the entire night in cold, open areas because they were too scared to enter damaged houses when aftershocks hit,” said Harish Chandra Sharma, a Jajarkot district official.
