Benjamin Netanyahu, the leader of the Likud Party, who won the elections in Israel and was elected prime minister for the 6th time, formed the 37th government. Netanyahu, Israel’s longest-serving prime minister and right-wing leader, was sworn in at the rostrum with 31 ministers, 5 of whom were women, in his cabinet.
On the other hand hundreds of protesters gathered in front of the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, to protest Netanyahu’s formation of a government. Protesters chanted slogans with Israeli flags, calling for “Expel the darkness” and “Bibi and Ben Gvir are destroying democracy”.
