Nevada Wildfire Forces Evacuation of 42,000

A fast-moving wildfire near Reno, Nevada, has spread across 60 kilometers due to strong winds, injuring six people and prompting the immediate evacuation of 42,000 residents. The blaze, which ignited on Saturday, remains out of control and has forced authorities to shut down all schools and traffic in Washoe County. As the flames threaten approximately 13,700 homes in the danger zone, another 45,000 people have been warned to prepare to flee. Following the declaration of a state of emergency and the deployment of the National Guard, Governor Joe Lombardo urged, “Everyone in the affected areas needs to be careful and must follow the instructions of local authorities.”
